For Low Income Individuals

To further our commitment to community service, FGAR wants to provide heavily discounted desktop computers to local area customers who demonstrate income-based eligibility.
These refurbished $30 desktop computers run Windows 10 or Ubuntu and are great for basic school, home, and office tasks.

General $30 Desktop Kit Contents and Checklist:

  1. To purchase a $30 low-income desktop kit, the recipient must meet FGAR’s eligibility requirements. (see requirements below)

  2. Provide proof of low-income documentation in advance.

  3. Allow 3 days to one week for us to prepare a kit prior to pick up.

  4. Limit one $30 desktop kit per person.

  5. $30 covers the cost of one refurbished desktop tower computer, while the included kit accessories are provided for free.

  6. The FREE INCLUDED accessories are as follows:

    1. one used desktop monitor

    2. one used video cable

    3. one used usb wired keyboard

    4. one used usb wired mouse

    5. two used power cables (for power to the desktop computer and the desktop monitor)

    6. one used ethernet cable

    7. one pair of used earbuds (or a modest used headset if available at the time of purchase)

  7. The desktop kit is suitable for very BASIC home, school, and/or office computer needs.

$30 Desktop Kit Eligibility Requirements:

In order to be eligible, recipients must provide proof of low income status through qualifying documentation:

1) A document created by a certified program showing enrollment in an income-based government assistance program with the kit recipient’s full name. This document must be dated within the last 6 months, unless it is an annual document.

2) A matching picture ID. This can be a State ID, Driver's License, Passport, Student ID, or Company issued ID.

Qualifying programs that meet FGAR’s low income eligibility requirements:

  • Adult & Child Mental Health Case Management

  • Employment Services

  • Extended Foster Care

  • Food Support (a dated letter showing current eligibility is required)

  • Financial Assistance, such as Arkansas Transitional Employment Assistance, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, etc. (a dated letter showing current eligibility is required)

  • Head Start

  • Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

  • Medicaid or Medical Assistance (bring a document that says "MA" or "Medical Assistance" on it.)

  • The National School Lunch Program's Free or Reduced Lunch Program

  • Section 8, Federal Public Housing Assistance, or Group Residential Housing (GRH)

  • Social Security Disability (SSD)

  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

  • A Statement of benefits from Social Security, General Assistance, Veteran Administration, Retirement/Pension or Unemployment Benefits

  • Pell Grant
