Free Geek of Arkansas is
a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
established in 2007.
We are dedicated to keeping electronics out of landfills and serving the local community by providing low-cost electronics within an atmosphere that promotes sharing knowledge and learning.
THE THREE PILLARS OF OUR ORGANIZATION
WAREHOUSE
Our warehouse is where we accept end of life and unwanted electronics (working and non-working e-waste). We sort your donated electronics for re-use, refurbishment, or recycle. The warehouse is also where we wipe data from hard drives.
COMPUTERS
Our on-staff computer technician oversees computer repair and refurbishing services, as well as preparing free laptops and super cheap desktop computers for people who qualify.
THRIFT STORE
Our thrift store is where we sell used cables, audio visual devices, equipment, small appliances, computers, computer accessories, and other electronic items that arrive in our warehouse.
WALK THROUGH OUR THRIFT STORE
You can explore the kinds of consumer electronic items, devices, and accessories available for sale. Find anything from computers and monitors to cassette decks, speakers, cables, and various electronics. Search for specific computer parts, find an older cable, or enjoy those weird old VHS movies. Our inventory is like a museum of the recent past.
You are sure to find something for every geek in your life.
In addition to selling refurbished computers under warranty, we also provide free diagnosis of computer issues and can fix many things.
Our Online Store is a constant work in progress.
Most items listed in our online store are there to show examples of what we might have on hand and what prices we sell them for. Computers are a regularly updated inventory. Here is the link to our online store.
Internet Access
Our Fayetteville, Arkansas location features an Internet Cafe where anyone can come in and use one of two public use All-in-One computers (or other refurbished computer upon request). Access the internet, check email, print out important documents, and scan anything you need.
Get Involved
Every day, volunteers and staff are doing their best to sort incoming e-waste donations, build computers, test electronics, and tear down gear. If that sounds exciting to you, then please get involved today by signing up to volunteer.
EDUCATION Programs
Free Geek of Arkansas plans on offering several education programs throughout the year for a minimum fee when we have more capacity to. We are not currently offering classes.

Volunteer opportunities
Be involved in reimagining e-waste as innovation, supply resource, and art. Learn to test, repair, rebuild, and repurpose electronics. Share knowledge with other volunteers.

Donations
Fan of Reducing E-Waste? Help Free Geek of Arkansas to protect our environment and reduce our impact on the earth.
You can bring us your used electronics and e-waste. You can give monetary donations, which we use to help Free Geek of Arkansas to fix and maintain our forklift, our box truck, to pay staff, rent, utilities, and enable our Geek Gifts endowments.
