E-Waste Donations:
Environmental responsibility made easy!
Do you have a U-Haul, box truck, or large palletized drop-off to make? Please give us a heads up at info@freegeekarkansas.org or call (479) 966-9512 to verify when we have the staff and space on-hand to handle your donation efficiently. This lets our warehouse know in advance of LARGE e-waste donations such as a trailer load, or HEAVY items weighing 100+ lbs.
Disclaimer:
Please back up any data you would like to keep on any device that you plan on donating. Any donation that contains storage capabilities will be security wiped and rendered non-recoverable once it enters Free Geek of Arkansas premise.
Please do not drop off donations outside of normal business hours, or without going through our donation procedure with Free Geek of Arkansas Staff. Doing so is considered “Dumping”, which puts your personal data at risk, and is illegal.
Preparing Your Donation:
Packaging and extras
Please bring as little packaging as possible and recycle any additional equipment boxes and packing materials (non e-wastes) through your other local recycling programs.
New old stock that’s never been opened and vintage items still in original packaging are okay to leave in the packaging.
You can help speed up the processing and recycling of your electronics equipment by:
Untangling all cords and cables and coiling them up with a rubber band or twist tie.
Attaching power adapters to their associated equipment
Turn Off Activation Lock for Mobile Devices
If you would like your device to be reused it is critical to turn off the activation lock. Even if your device is damaged, it may be worth repairing as long as it is not locked. If you have an Apple (iOS) device, please follow these instructions to prepare it for reuse. If your device has been removed from iCloud, resetting to factory settings will wipe your user data.
What to expect
